RE : HOME was initiated by asking myself what it would look like to change the narrative for typical living conditions in Los Angeles to the benefit of the occupants and community as a whole.
My partner in this project, Hailey Pease, and I decided to create a formulaic principle as a guide for this design. Using existing neighborhood homes, we would establish a pathway from a re-used home that spawns prefabricated units to produce a more organic design. The existing houses are then transformed into communal spaces such as a health center and entertainment space. RE : HOME serves as a halfway neighborhood for individuals struggling to recover from homelessness, reconnecting them to a new home of their own
